About Lizzy Ashton

Hi, my name is Lizzy Ashton, and I’m from Louisiana.

I consider myself an expert when it comes to raising parakeets and have been doing it for many years now. I’m 32 years old, live with my boyfriend, and together, we have 7 parakeets at home. 

Our home is full of light and greenery, which my birds love. We even let them fly around the house (windows closed, of course)!

I didn’t always like birds, but one day, many years ago, everything changed when I was sitting in a park with a friend eating sandwiches. We were enjoying our lunch when we noticed a bird come up to us and ask for food. We were both in awe at how comfortable this bird was getting close to us. 

Eventually, the bird even landed on my lap and ate from my hand! I was so overwhelmed by this communication that I knew I wanted more birds in my life from that day forward.

So after I did my research, I found the parakeets. I was surprised by how beautiful and friendly they could be, and I knew they were the perfect birds for me.

Parakeets are the kind of bird that makes a home feel extra special. Not only are they full of personality and love, but they also provide endless hours of entertainment.
